You Need a Breath of Fresh Air

Recently I discovered the power of breathing. I might sound insane to you, but truly if you stopped to think about it when was the last time you just sat there for a moment and focused on your breath? We constantly flow through our days in a state of constant motion, rarely pausing to just be. Lately I’ve been making the conscious effort to focus more on simply breathing and bringing myself back to the present moment. This week I decided to make it a point to stop, sit still, and simply breathe. Okay now it’s your turn try it with me…. Ready? Take a deep breath in…..hold….and exhale….Notice how it feels to be in the present moment? You weren’t thinking about anything else, only that moment of breath. This leads me to my next point.

Do yourself a favor and open your window!

Recently I went on a trip to NYC and stayed at the cute hotel pictured above. Something I realized while there was how much I value the fresh air and just how much of an impact it had on my day to day mood. The best feeling was opening that window in the snow each morning and feeling the slight breeze touch my skin. Ever since that trip I’ve found myself embracing the fresh air and opting to open my window more and more. Coming from someone who constantly sat in the dark before, leaving your window open and letting in the crisp fresh air is truly magical and can make the start of each day feel lighter, more refreshed and full of possibility. Our environment has such a big impact on our happiness, so why not work towards creating a peaceful space that can help increase our mood? So today I invite you to take a moment to breathe deeply, open your window, and let the fresh air remind you that peace is always within reach.

From my heart,

Hanna
